Intersecting Knowledge and Power

A warm welcome to all the students from periods one, two, and four in Mr. Puterbaugh's 'Lit & Comp 9' class who are visiting this blog. I am running this blog with the intention of documenting:

i) What happens in class,
ii) What the homework is, and
iii) Provide supplementary resources for those interested in investigating topics outside of class time.
As we discussed in class, 'knowledge' is created collaboratively; so feel free to comment on any posts as I consider this blog to be your space to connect with the material outside of class. That said, I will act as the steward of this blog and any posts or activities that violate the following rules will be removed or disbanded immediately:
  • Vulgar and oppressive discourse such as, though not limited to: racist, sexist, heterosexist, homophobic, ageist, ableist, xenophobic, transphobic, classist, ethnocentric language in addition to any discourse intended to harass or demean any one or any opinions posted on this blog.
These rules are designed to keep this space open and inclusive. Know that when you post you are inserting your position, or humor, and personality into the larger conversation that this community is engaged in, and that the health of this community is either preserved or deadened by the individual initiative of its members. I encourage you to use this blog as you see fit through the utilization of your personal initiative; but remember that when you do, you also decide in part whether your post either promotes or discourages the health of this community.

So please: think, explore, and most of all enjoy!
